Dr. Kevin Shute earned his medical doctorate from Wake Forest University School
of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC in 2005 with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors. He had
previously earned a B.S. in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from High Point
University in High Point, NC, Summa Cum Laude. He completed a residency in
anesthesiology in 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and
immediately thereafter served a one year fellowship in Chronic Pain Management
at Carolinas Pain Institute. Dr. Shute is certified by the American Board of
Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain management.
A member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society for
Regional Anesthesia, and the North Carolina Medical Society, Dr. Shute practices
at the Asheboro, Winston-Salem, and Thomasville locations of Carolinas Pain
Institute. Dr. Shute is also a member of The Pain Society of the Carolinas,
serves as a case reviewer for the North Carolina Medical Board and continues to
practice general anesthesia at Davis Hospital in Statesville, NC.
